Letters of Recommendation

All graduate applicants must submit three letters of recommendation to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Letters should be obtained from the following individuals: professors, teachers, or employers who know you and can describe your academic ability.

Financial Documents

U.S. law requires all international students to prove they can support their estimated annual costs for every year of their program of study. Students must provide documents, which will demonstrate to the U.S. Embassy that they have enough money to cover the first year of study in the U.S., and sufficient and dependable financial resources to cover every additional year. A student's funding may come from a combination of sources, including personal funds (see below). All financial documents must be sent to the address above.

To prove you are financially capable of providing this support for every year of the student's program, you must provide the following documents. Please note that if all of these documents are not sent, your support will not be considered.

  • Affidavit of Financial Support - This form must be completely filled out in English, and must be completed by all persons (sponsors) financially supporting the student. All questions must be answered. Affidavits must be signed by the sponsor in the presence of a notary public, the notary public must sign, and the official seal of the notary public must be on the affidavit.
  • Bank statements - Along with the Affidavit of Financial Support, three (3) consecutive months of bank statements must be included. The bank statements must be in the sponsor's name and include the date the account was opened, the current balance in U.S. dollars, average deposits and average balances. We cannot accept statements that do not specify balances, unless it is stated to be a minimum of six figures in U.S. dollars. Please note that if another person's name appears on the bank statement, that person must also complete a separate affidavit or submit a notarized statement permitting those funds to be considered as financial support for the student.

Scholarships

International students are not eligible for federal financial aid. However, international undergraduate students may apply for an international scholarship. Incoming undergraduate students during the fall semester may apply for an international scholarship. These scholarships are competitive in nature; students who meet the minimum requirements are not necessarily guaranteed a scholarship as there are only a limited number available in any given year. As a result of the large number of students applying for these scholarships, students should NOT count on the international scholarship when completing the Affidavit of Financial Support. Please refer to the eligibility criteria and the application instructions below.

Please read this section very carefully if you are interested in applying.

International Scholarships

To apply for an international scholarship, please complete the International Scholarship Application and submit it to the Office of International Programs. For preferred consideration, please submit by March 1. After this date, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be aware that scholarship amounts are subject to change without notice.

Students will only receive one scholarship, but they will be awarded the highest scholarship possible based on eligibility and availability. Please be aware that scholarships are only available to undergraduate students entering during the fall semester. Scholarship applications received after March 1 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
