The biology programs at Kutztown University prepare students for the workplace, for graduate work in biology, and for medical and other professional schools. The programs all have strong lab components that emphasize student involvement and close student-faculty interaction. Our graduates rate their training highly: 85% consider it "very good" or "excellent". And our graduates are successful: 85% are currently employed in biology-related jobs or advanced training.
In addition to our excellent faculty and facilities on campus, the Biology Department has formal cooperative programs with The Marine Science Consortium at Wallops Island, VA., Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Kempton, PA, and is a member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania University Biologists. Also, our students have worked at over 25 different cooperating agencies in internships over the past several years.
